“Jane the Virgin” season 5 is officially coming back and its arrival will effectively end the waiting game. It has been almost a year since season 4 concluded so this is really a much-awaited installment. What’s more, it was confirmed that this will be the final run and this detail is another reason why its viewers should watch it.
Jennie Snyder Urman, “Jane the Virgin” season 5’s showrunner shared that the final season is something that they are very proud of. This is because the team really worked hard to achieve the exact ending that they had planned for it since the beginning of the series.
“It is some of our best stuff ever and we are very proud of the new episodes,” the “Jane the Virgin” season 5 showrunner said. “I pitched the way the series is going to end when we started working on the show. We are on the path that was the story I felt like I wanted to tell, so it’s exciting, because we’re getting to that ending.”
In another interview with Deadline, the showrunner dropped a major spoiler by saying that “Jane the Virgin” season 5 is going to end with a wedding. However, whom she will end up with is still a secret. Jane will be in a love triangle with Rafael and Michael so it is not easy to guess who she will choose in the end.
Meanwhile, as “Jane the Virgin” season 5 comes to a close, Gina Rodriquez (Jane Villanueva) announced on Jan. 24 that the series will have a spin-off and it will be called “Jane the Novelas.” The petite actress happily shared the good news via social media.
“We got good news from the CW! Jane will be birthing a SPIN-OFF!!!!! Jane The Novelas!!!” Gina Rodriguez tweeted while also tagging @JaneTheVirgin and CW Network.
“Jane the Virgin” season 5 would be the series' last installment but fans can still watch more narratives about Jane as her story will continue through the upcoming spin-off. Incidentally, the setting for “Jane the Novelas,” has already been confirmed - it will take place at a Napa Valley vineyard.
The finale of “Jane the Virgin” season 5 will be on broadcast starting March 27 at 9 p.m. on CW Network.
