Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are now officially singles as their divorce papers were finally signed by a judge on Wednesday, No. 7. The finalization took place in Los Angeles and it happened less than a week after they forwarded the paperwork to the Superior Court judge who was handling their case.
According to TMZ, the former the now ex-husband and wife opted to do their divorce without hiring a lawyer. To process their papers, they asked assistance from Laura Wasser, a lawyer but only served as their mediator.
With the finalization of their divorce, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck agreed to have joint custody of their 3 kids – Violet, 12, Seraphina, 9, and Samuel, 6. They will co-parent and required to meet with a co-parenting therapist once a month for t least 6 months.
The pair did not sign a prenuptial agreement so apparently, their properties are going to be divided. However, the details about this aspect of their divorce were not mentioned in the reports.
Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck seem so cool about their divorce and proved that they are still good friends when they were spotted having some ice cream after their papers were finally signed. The ex-couple enjoyed a cool treat when they visited an ice cream shop and chatted as good friends, Elle reported.
Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck separated in 2015 but their divorce was postponed for two years. Despite their split, the two are known to be on very good terms and they even spend holidays or go on vacations together with their kids.
Jennifer Garner also showed that she is still concern about Ben Affleck even after they broke up when she was the one who brought the latter to a rehab so he can get treatment for his alcohol problem. There is no doubt that the two actors will maintain a close relationship even if they move on with their lives as singles.
