Jungkook, the youngest member of the South Korean boy group called BTS, trended on the internet again this week. The 23-year-old recently appeared on the “Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” and his name immediately topped the search in various social media.
As per Allkpop, Jungkook trended at no. 1 worldwide after a performance on the said American TV show. On Monday, BTS was on the show and they will be in it for a week.
Here’s what made Jungkook trend
BTS performed their Billboard Hot 100 hit song “Dynamite.” The group also presented a skit as a special stage.
Of course, the band was not physically present in the studio and they also presented their rendition of “IDOL” with the Gyeongbokgung palace as their backdrop. They chose this background as South Korea is celebrating Chuseok, a national holiday where families get together, soon.
While performing fans could not help but notice Jungkook’s hairstyle. He sported a bun while strutting to the tune of “IDOL.” They also wore a Hanbok-inspired black ensemble that really goes so well with the BTS’ maknae’s hairdo.
Jungkook’s name immediately appeared on Twitter and became the hottest search at no. 1 in 79 countries including the U.S. It was added that there were also one million mentions about the idol singer’s “bun-hairstyle.”
BTS on Jimmy Fallon Show
Meanwhile, BTS will continue appearing on “Tonight’s Show With Jimmy Fallon.” As per Deadline, the band is scheduled to be in the talk show from Sept. 28 to Oct. 2.
“I’m so excited to have BTS back on the show and we just started the new season and we’re working on a lot of really exciting things,” Jimmy Fallon told Entertainment Weekly when asked about the boy group’s participation in his program. “One thing that is important to us at ‘The Tonight Show’ is showcasing talent and creatives, so what better way to kick things off than a full week with them and this is just the start."
After this, BTS will focus on the release of their new album called “BE.” This will be launched in November but pre-order has already started on Sept. 28.
