KEMP, Texas, March 12, 2018 -- Industrial lighting leader, Larson Electronics LLC, announced the release of a new explosion proof self-testing bug eye LED exit sign light fixture approved for use in C1D1/C2D1 locations. This fixture produces 99 lumens and will operate for at least 90 minutes in the event of a power outage, making it ideal for use as emergency failsafe lighting in areas where explosion proof fixtures are required.
The EXP-EMG-EXT-LE6-3L-V2 from Larson Electronics is an explosion proof bug eye emergency LED exit sign that includes an LED exit sign, and three lamps containing eight LEDs each. Each lamp produces 33 lumens of high-quality white LED light for a total of 99 lumens, drawing just 3.3 watts. The exit sign comes with either a left or right pointing arrow to indicate the direction of the nearest exit. This emergency exit unit features self-testing and a backup emergency battery for failsafe reliability, which will run for at least 90 minutes after a power failure with the help of a 3.6 volt NiCad chargeable battery.
This explosion proof emergency LED exit sign features brown-out, short circuit and voltage surge protection, and has a low voltage disconnect which prevents damage to the battery in the case of a deep discharge. The EXP-EMG-EXT-LE6-3L-V2 is designed for surface mounting. The indicator lights can be adjusted both vertically and horizontally, allowing operators to achieve ideal coverage specific to their location. The entire assembly is made of powder coated die cast aluminum with polycarbonate lenses protecting the LED bulbs, and operates on 120/277V AC at 60Hz.
“If you need reliable failsafe emergency exit lighting, you can’t go wrong with this fixture,” said Rob Bresnahan, CEO of Larson Electronics LLC. “This explosion proof emergency LED combines an emergency backup battery with both indicator lights and a directional exit sign. This makes it a really multi-functional exit marking solution for any hazardous area.”
