“Last Man Standing” season 7 was revived by Fox after being canceled by ABC. It created controversies but the show was able to get past the hurdles.
Now, just a few days before its actual release schedule, “Last Man Standing” season 7 debuted and many fans were surprised. Fox decided to air the pilot episode on Sept. 23 as part of promoting the seventh season, and as posted on social media, the early showing was also a way to thank the fans for their loyalty.
“Last Man Standing” season 7 premiered via Twitter and along with it, a message was also posted and it explains the early airing of the show. The note reads: “Even though ‘Last Fan Standing’ has come to an end, we want to say thank you to ALL of our loyal fans by releasing the premiere episode of #LastManStanding EARLY!”
As TV Line reported, the pilot telecast was titled, “Welcome Baxter” and it is the continuation of the sixth season’s finale that aired on ABC. In the episode, Mike Baxter (Tim Allen) and Vanessa Baxter (Nancy Travis) welcomed their daughter Eve Baxter (Kaitlyn Dever) as she comes home from the Air Force Academy. Elsewhere, Ryan (Jordan Masterson) tried to fix his political anxiety and his solution was pretty extreme.
New Cast
“Last Man Standing” season 7’s pilot also introduced new cast members and they are Molly McCook, who replaces Molly Ephraim as Mandy Baxter, and Jet Jurgensmeyer, who took over the role of Boyd from Flynn Morrison. Other support cast members include Amanda Fuller (Kristin Baxter), Jonathan Adams (Chuck), Christoph Sanders (Kyle Anderson) and Hector Elizondo (Ed Alzate).
“Last Man Standing” season 7 will officially premiere on Sept. 28 at 8 p.m. on Fox.
