This week, video game fans who have been wishing for the continuation of "Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle" found a new reason to keep hoping. After a brief change in an official Twitter page and a new account possibly linked to Ubisoft, gamers are not losing hope for an imminent sequel announcement.
'Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle' sequel confirmed?
It all started with a report from Twitter user So_Ethereal that the official social media page of the "Rabbids" franchise changed its username from @RabidsOfficial to @mariorabbids. It did not take much before fans jump to conclusions that it could mean the highly requested "Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle" sequel is, at least, in the works.
Wow, apparently the official account of the Rabbids turned from @/RabbidsOfficial to @mariorabbids!

Will we finally get the sequel of Mario Rabbids we desired?

The supposed leak did not last long, though. Right now, if any Twitter user searches for the page with the @mariorabbids handle, they will be led to an account owned by someone named Anders Ljungström. The page is obviously made recently as it does not follow anyone and has only 23 followers. Its bio also indicates that the page was made just this month. However, the more interesting clue lies in the email address linked to the @mariorabbids page.
There is one trick that curious video game fans do when a possible social media page is linked to an upcoming or an unannounced game. They use the forgot password prompt to find clues about the email address linked to the profile.

In this case, the @mariorabbids page was created with an email address an**********@u******.***. Based on the number of characters for the email domain, some speculate that it could be linked to Ubisoft.com, and so the speculations about the "Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle" sequel continue.
'Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle' announcement remains elusive
While these details are interesting for anyone wanting to see a "Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle" sequel, they are nothing more than just speculations this time. It is worth noting that Nintendo and Ubisoft have yet to mention any plans of continuing their partnership for one of the most successful collaborations done for the Nintendo Switch console.
It has been more than three years since "Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle" was launched. The latest significant update it got was the "Donkey Kong Adventure" DLC released in 2018. It has been radio silence ever since.
