Pregnancy can often be something to celebrate and certainly seems to be an event that British Royal couple Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are looking forward to. However, recent reports about the former “Suits” actress carrying twins are simply not true. Considering how they might not even have full legal custody of their kids anyway, this could actually be an agonizing decision for both of them.
In yet another round of debunking, Gossip Cop happily puts down a recent report that Meghan Markle is expecting two girls. The publication called out a claim by the tabloid Life & Style, which reported that the Duchess of Sussex was confirmed to be pregnant with twins. Such a statement comes off as quite bold, especially considering how momentous an event this would have been.
If Meghan Markle was indeed pregnant, there would be a more dignified ceremony with regards to its announcement. At the very least, it would have been done via the Kensington Palace Twitter account instead of through a tabloid magazine. So far, the social media accounts that are officially tied to the Royal Family have been silent on the matter.
Speaking of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry having children, doing so might not actually be the best move for the couple. As The Independent recently pointed out, it would appear that there is a law, which indicates that the pair would not have complete custody over their children. In fact, this particular authority would fall to Queen Elizabeth, herself.
This particular law is called “The Grand Opinion for the Prerogative Concerning the Royal Family,” which was enacted in 1717 by King George I. It basically allows the current sitting monarch to have full control over the lives of the children born into their direct line. This would obviously include Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s children.
On that note, there should be no need to worry since it’s quite unlikely for Queen Elizabeth to act on this particle law. It’s more of a formality than anything else, so Meghan Markle can have as many real babies as she wants with Prince Harry. She just won’t have them right now because she isn’t pregnant yet.
