Studio Bones, the studio behind “My Hero Academia,” is releasing a brand new tech noir anime titled “Metallic Rouge.” For their 25th anniversary, Studio Bones, known for “Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood,” “Mob Psycho 100,” and “My Hero Academia,” has revealed a brand new original anime.
Although the first episode was seen to lucky viewers at Anime NYC 2023, Studio Bones has kept many interesting secrets for this mecha series under wraps. Here is everything we know about the forthcoming “Metallic Rouge.”
‘Metallic Rouge’ Release Date
“Metallic Rouge” will be released in January 2024, although no precise date has been set, per Dexerto. The imminent anime series' release date was confirmed alongside its debut teaser trailer in July 2023. It will air on Fuji TV (+Ultra) in Japan and will be simulcast for streaming outside of Asia on Crunchyroll.
‘Metallic Rouge’ Cast
The team behind “Metallic Rouge” has a plethora of sci-fi anime experience. Yutaka Izubuchi, known for “Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone and Cowboy Bebop: The Movie,” is the series' principal director. “Spirited Away” animator Motonobu Hori, “Ultraman R/B” screenwriter Toshizo Nemoto, “Cowboy Bebop” director and Studio Bones co-founder Toshihiro Kawamoto, and composer Taisei Iwasaki will collaborate with him.
So yes, only two names from the “Metallic Rouge” cast have been revealed. Yume Miyamoto from GJ Club will play Rouge Redstar, and Tomoyo Kurosawa from Yuki Yuna is a Hero will play Naomi Orthmann.
‘Metallic Rouge’ Spoilers
“Metallic Rouge,” unlike many of the biggest stars in anime right now, has no source material, per Radio Times. The summary on the anime's official website, on the other hand, says that it will be a modern take on a traditional mecha story.
The “Metallic Rouge” plot revolves around an android girl named Rouge and her girlfriend Naomi in a future where humans and androids cohabit. They're on a special mission on Mars to eliminate nine anti-government androids.
