Michael Schumacher Update: Former Bosses Reminisce Moments with F1 Legend, Jean Todt Shares He Often Visits Schumi

Michael Schumacher

Michael Schumacher's current health condition is still a mystery and while his family refuses to give updates, his friends and former colleagues share something about him from time to time. Most recently, Jean Todt, Schumi’s former boss in Ferrari, revealed that he visits the racing champ at least twice a month thus he can assure fans that he is still fighting.

In his interview with UK’s The Times, Jean Todt, now Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile's (FIA) president, said that he visits Michael Schumacher and that he remembers many moments with champ when he was still active in Formula One.

Talking about Michael Schumacher’s best times in the sport, Todt told the publication, “When people ask me what is my best memory, it’s this one,” pointing at the photo on the wall of his office in the FIA headquarters in Paris. The image shows himself lifting the champ high up on the podium.

Todt continues to explain, “That’s Suzuka in 2000. Michael is world champion after 21 years.” His fondness for Schumi became very evident when he said that he sees the former champ twice a month. “I love him,” he said.

Michael Schumacher’s other close colleagues recalled Michael’s many victories in the Suzuka circuit, a track that many drivers dream of competing on. Ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix, Ross Brawn, former chief technical officer for Benetton and Ferrari, remember him for winning titles in Suzuka.

As per Express, it is memorable for Ferrari because it was where Michael Schumacher won their first world championship in 2000 after over two decades of drought.

"I associate so many memories with this track, and these are mainly related to a driver who dominated Suzuka and that was Michael Schumacher,” Brawn narrated. "I can still remember the feeling of joy when Michael returned to the track after his second pit stop before his title rival Mika Hakkinen and also the intense 13 race laps that followed to the finish.”

He admitted that that was a moment that “will not be forgotten." Meanwhile, Michael Schumacher is believed to be recovering well after his freak skiing accident in 2013.
