RALEIGH, N.C., Jan. 24, 2017 -- MobileSmith founder and President Bob Dieterle has been named CEO, to succeed Amir Elbaz effective immediately. The transition takes place as Elbaz steps back to focus on his role as CEO of iPhotonix, while Randy Tomlin succeeds Elbaz as Chairman of the Board.
“As Bob has continued to take on more of the leadership role here at MobileSmith, it quickly became apparent he was the right person to lead the organization full time,” said Elbaz, who will continue as a member of the Board of Directors. “MobileSmith continues to fill a critical need in the enterprise mobile market, and this allows me to remain involved without undermining its continued potential as a result of competing demands on my time and focus.”
Dieterle has been the chief innovator of the MobileSmith platform since its founding in 2011, assuming new responsibilities as COO in 2014 and President in 2016. As President, he has led the organization to success as the number one platform for hospital mobile apps.
“Since its inception, MobileSmith has been a leader in creating enterprise mobile solutions,” said Dieterle. “I am proud of what we have accomplished so far, and I look forward to working closely with Randy Tomlin as we move into the next stage of focused growth in the healthcare market.”
“Amir has done a terrific job as both CEO and Chairman of the Board,” stated Tomlin, “and we have worked closely on the transition plan. I am honored to take over as board Chair, and I am very excited to join a company poised for such strong growth in the enterprise mobile application platform space.”
Dieterle brings over 20 years of global technology experience from companies like IBM and Lenovo and is an accomplished thought leader in the adoption and commercialization of emerging technologies at the consumer and enterprise levels. Bob has a BS in Electrical Engineering from NC State, and an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
