The Motorola Razr might ring a bell to many people as it was once one of the most popular flip phone brands. It is now rumored to make a comeback with a so-called Motorola Razr 2019 smartphone to challenge new devices from Samsung and Huawei with foldable displays.
Motorola Razr 2019 has the rumor mill spinning as supposed image renders of the upcoming device recently appeared on Slashleaks. The post contains four photos that showcase its packaging and accessories. It also hints at maintaining the familiar Motorola Razr design except that the touchscreen is extended to where the keypad was previously placed.

One of the photos of Motorola Razr 2019 also shows that device folding in. The same post, however, does not clearly show whether or not a secondary screen is available where users can check notifications when the smartphone is folded. The original Razr flip phones had the same feature, though, it was not touch-enabled.
Motorola, now owned by Chinese tech company Lenovo, has yet to confirm if the said smartphone is really in the works. However, the alleged Motorola Razr 2019 renders were not the only leaked information that sparked the speculations.
Last month, XDA Developers reported that a “Motorola Razr” listing on Launch Studio platform was spotted confirming that the said device will sport a Bluetooth 5.0 component. The document has very few details about Motorola Razr 2019. Other than the Bluetooth specs, it is described to have Verizon as its carrier.
Meanwhile, earlier reports have also mentioned several possible technical specs for Motorola Razr 2019. The rumored device is expected to be powered with a Snapdragon 710 chip and run with the latest Android OS 9.0 Pie. Its display panel is reportedly composed of AMOLED while there are two memory configuration variants to be offered — 64GB internal storage + 4GB RAM or 128GB + 6GB.
Given that it is named Motorola Razr 2019, it might be released within this year. Even though the leaked details are piling up, it is still best to wait on Motorola’s official announcement.
