“Narcos: Mexico” season 2 is in production right now so bits and pieces of information are available. It will continue with the tales about the Mexican drug trade and will certainly feature new characters as the story further explores the roots of the illegal business that started in this country.
Needless to say, “Narcos: Mexico” season 2 will still be about the Guadalajara Cartel headed by Felix Gallardo (Diego Luna). And since Kiki Camarena (Michael Pena), the DEA agent who ran after the notorious cartel, has been killed off after being brutally tortured, someone will replace him to continue the fight against the wicked drug lords. It was revealed that the narrator who was featured in season 1 would play a major role in this new installment as the new DEA agent.
The narrator who was referred to as Walt in season 1’s finale will up the war against drugs in “Narcos: Mexico” season 2 after pledging to go all-out to crash the villains. He was later identified as Walt Breslin and Scoot McNairy has been tapped to play this character.
As for the “Narcos: Mexico” season 2, there were suggestions that El Chapo’s character will be added in the show. And while he briefly appeared in the first season, his role may be expanded in the sequel
Express noted that “Narcos: Mexico” season 2 may tell the story of how El Chapo (Alejandro Edda) became a powerful figure in the world of illegal drugs. The question of whether he really worked under Felix Gallardo will be answered in the upcoming episodes as well.
Finally, Netflix has not released an update regarding “Narcos: Mexico” season 2’s premiere yet. However, since filming is already underway, we could be getting the new chapter before the year ends.
