FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Dec. 12, 2017 -- Innovations in clinical data management and the latest trends in pharmaceutical research and development claimed center stage at the 7th Annual Innovation Forum, a customer summit hosted by OmniComm Systems, Inc. (OTCQX:OMCM), a leading global provider of clinical data management technology.
With participants from more than a dozen countries, attendance at the annual event increased nearly 20% year-over-year and included representatives from 50 life science companies and Summit Partners. The standing-room-only audience listened to presentations from more than 25 thought leaders, including OmniComm customers who have achieved significant gains in clinical trials productivity, automation, data quality, operational efficiency and compliance using OmniComm’s suite of EDC products. The event was live-tweeted under the hashtag: #OMCM2017.
“Attending the Innovation Forum 2017 was a great opportunity for me to become inspired by other presenters and attendees. This year, the Forum provided more activities, speakers and networking opportunities. It was really exciting to see how the EDC technology is developing year by year,” said Maibritt Haugaard Møller, system validation expert at Larix A/S, a Scandinavian-headquartered contract research organization (CRO). She and Rob Nichols, chief commercial officer of Algorics, joined forces to present the session: What Does ICH E6 R2 Mean for Risk-Based Monitoring (RBM) and Clinical Trials?
Excellence in Innovation Award Winners
At the Innovation Forum, OmniComm’s commitment to its customers extended to honoring organizations that share OmniComm’s passion for progress, creativity, collaboration and advancement in life sciences. Each year, the Excellence in Innovation Awards program recognizes life science organizations that have designed and implemented significant clinical research innovation utilizing OmniComm’s technology and services, resulting in improved operational efficiencies, best practices and business outcomes. The 2017 Excellence in Innovation Award recipients include a large pediatric research hospital, a major European-based CRO and one of the world’s largest CROs.
“It’s very rewarding to see our technology put to use in such innovative ways to facilitate quality and efficiency throughout the research process. We work very hard to develop new features and functionality to support our clients in their efforts to cure diseases and improve the quality of life for everyone,” said Stephen Johnson, CEO of OmniComm. “This year’s field of nominees was quite extensive, so special congratulations go to the 2017 winners.”
Innovation Forum attendees also participated in product workshops prior to the start of the event. These half-day workshops offered free training and skills enhancement with TrialMaster® EDC and TrialOne®. During the event, OmniComm launched new products and provided a sneak peak of new releases, including TrialMaster Version 5 and TrialOne updates.
“This was the second straight year that CluePoints has participated in the Innovation Forum, and once again, we were very impressed by the many thought-provoking presentations from OmniComm and their clients and partners. The conference also provided an engaging, interactive atmosphere throughout,” said Steve Young, chief operations officer of CluePoints, an industry leader in analytics-driven risk-based monitoring solutions.
