‘Peaky Blinders’ Season 3 Episode 6: Gang Pulls off Ultimate Heist in Finale? Tom Hardy Steals Spotlight on Return as Alfie

Tom Hardy plays Jewish gang leader Alfie Solomons in BBC's 'Peaky Blinders'

‘Peaky Blinders’ season 3 episode 6 will find the gang attempting to pull off the ultimate double-heist of their lives. Tom Hardy also returns to star as Jewish gang leader Alfie alongside Cillian Murphy’s Blinders leader Tommy Shelby.

According to The Week, the show is building up to a potential season finale of a daring double heist and may see Tommy and the gang pulling off the biggest crimes of their careers.

The preceding episode saw Tommy coming out of his months-long recuperation following a bad priest-inflicted head injury. After weaning himself off a morphine-induced state, Tommy intended on rounding up the gang to pull off two major robberies on the same night – one for the armored cars from the Lanchester factory and another for jewels.

Tom Hardy stole the spotlight once more after returning to the series as maniacal Jewish gang leader Alfie Solomons. Tommy found himself in a bind and was forced to turn to Alfie for help against Russian threats. Despite the obvious tension between the two, Alfie obliges.

According to Metro, audiences couldn’t help but take to Twitter to express their excitement despite Hardy’s comparatively short screen time with Tommy. It seems that Alfie and Tommy’s unusual alliance will culminate in an explosive season finale.

Meanwhile, BBC greenlit the television show for seasons 4 and 5 even before the third season’s finale in a highly surprising move.

Showrunner Steven Knight admitted his amazement during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter saying, “It’s so un-BBC, it’s fantastic. They normally don’t re-commission until a series has ended… I certainly didn’t expect it to get this big, especially over here [in the U.S.]. The response to it is equal to if not more than the U.K. People are just bonkers about it. And the unusual step of the BBC giving permission to Netflix to air all six episodes before eps 5 & 6 play out in the U.K. means the show is eligible for this year’s Emmys.”

When asked about possible spin-offs following the success of the series, Knight revealed that he was always open to the idea but didn’t expand on any future plans. He added that a ‘Peaky Blinders’-inspired clothing line called ‘Garrison’ was in the works and is set to debut in London and Birmingham.

‘Peaky Blinders’ season 3’s episode 6 is scheduled to air on June 9, 2016.
