‘Pokemon Go’ Gen 4 Latest News: Still No Gen 4 Pokemon; Suicune Featured as October’s Field Research Reward

PokemonGO/Facebook

Niantic has been teasing the introduction of new Pokemon to get people talking about “Pokemon Go” Gen 4 for months now, but the company doesn’t seem to be planning anything big right now. Instead, Niantic decided to come up with a new batch of Field Research tasks.

October’s research tasks are confirmed to be water-themed, and players will get the chance to catch the Legendary Pokemon, Suicune, and a unique Spinda.

“Water-type Pokémon are the stars of October's Pokémon GO research updates. Trainers who make a Research Breakthrough during October will earn an encounter with the Aurora Pokémon, Suicune. There'll also be plenty of new Field Research tasks to complete, focusing on Suicune's fellow Water-type Pokémon. And if you complete a certain Field Research task, you'll also be able to catch a Spinda with a different pattern of spots,” a statement on the official Pokemon website reads.

“To make a Research Breakthrough, you'll need to collect seven stamps by completing Field Research tasks, and you can only earn one stamp each day.”

The inclusion of Suicune was expected since its fellow Legendary dogs, Raikou and Entei, were featured in the past two months. Catching one should be more satisfying than seeing “Pokemon Go” Gen 4 get introduced.

Aside from Suicune and Spinda, players will also get the chance to catch the shiny version of the River Crab Pokemon, Krabby, and its evolution, shiny Kingler. These additions have already gone live, and players have already encountered them. The mythical psychic type Pokemon Deoxys has finally gone live as well, and it makes its first appearance as an EX Raid boss.

Meanwhile, a lot of enthusiasts have speculated that it’s only a matter of time before the launch of “Pokemon Go” Gen 4. While waiting for Niantic to confirm that, players may as well enjoy the new additions to the game.
