Pokémon HOME is one of the new additions to the franchise’s services this year, and Nintendo has been active in deploying helpful updates since it launched. This week, version 1.2.1 was released that should make the overall user experience more pleasing.
What’s new in Pokémon HOME update 1.2.1
One of the biggest improvements in the Pokémon HOME update 1.2.1 revolves around the search result filters, especially in the Global Trade System (GTS). When using the GTS Search of Pokémon field, users will notice that the former filter option “include people searching for Legendary and Mythical Pokémon” has been changed to include “and other special Pokémon.” This should then widen the search results to other types of Pokémons that users may be interested in getting.
As part of improving the Pokémon HOME search functions, update 1.2.1 also allows users to filter results depending on the type of Pokémon they have deposited. It has also been made possible to place several Pokémon in the Wonder Box on one go.
When viewing Pokémon Rankings in the Battle Data, Pokémon HOME will now display the Pokémon Natures as well. This change should take effect starting in the first competition that takes place after the release of update 1.2.1.
The message that appears after completing a Revised Challenge was also improved in Pokémon HOME so users will easily understand what they have accomplished. Other small updates are also present to improve the UI including the addition of the Back button in the Battle Data pages and other bug fixes.
What is Pokémon HOME
As mentioned, Pokémon HOME is one of the newly introduced services for avid fans of the franchise. It practically functions as a cloud service so users can keep track of the core series games they have in their Nintendo Switch, namely “Pokémon Sword and Shield,” “Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu,” “Pokémon Let's Go Eevee,” and “Pokémon Bank” on Nintendo 3DS. It has been advertised that support for “Pokémon GO” will be added later, but Nintendo has yet to provide a specific date.
Pokémon HOME mainly carries features that allow for easier Pokémon trading activities. Note that the cloud service is only available on Switch and iOS and Android devices.
