LOS ALTOS, Calif., Jan. 09, 2018 -- DSP Group®, Inc. (NASDAQ:DSPG), a leading global provider of wireless chipset solutions for converged communications, announced today that Primax, an innovative company offering solutions for mobile devices, PC peripherals, business equipment and digital home devices, is introducing a line of new low-cost voice assistants based on DSP Group's advanced ULE (Ultra Low Energy) SoC (System-on-a-Chip) and SmartVoice audio/voice processors powered by HDClear™.
Primax’s new intelligent voice assistant features an easy and reliable voice user interface. It integrates DSP Group’s HDClear voice enhancement algorithms and DBMD4 SoC, which supports low-power, always-on voice activation and DSP Group’s DHX91 ULE SoC for a reliable intelligent human voice interface.
"We chose ULE for our voice assistant due to its interference-free frequency bands and clear natural voice. We are seeing great demand for products that capture clear high-quality voice transmission as well as increasing adoption of voice interface applications. We are excited to partner with DSP Group to further penetrate this exciting and high-growth segment,” said Chris Wei, CTO of Primax. “With the growing adoption of voice user interface, a partnership with voice experts DSP Group was the natural choice. ULE, and the underlying DECT technology, is the ideal choice for voice transmission, and when combined with HDClear’s always-on DSP, it enables any device to be easily transformed into a voice-enabled product.”
“We are excited to work with Primax and further strengthen our IoT and SmartVoice ecosystem,” said Yosi Brosh, CVP SmartVoice Product Line of DSP Group. “ULE technology is increasing in popularity, driven by growing demand from leading service providers and security providers that are launching offerings based on this technology and leveraging the enormous benefits it provides. The combination with our SmartVoice offering is a natural next step in adding a voice user interface to connect portable battery-operated IoT devices and we are happy to partner with Primax to bring their unique voice assistant products to market.”
