Sam Heughan is richer after playing Jaime Fraser in the “Outlander” series with Caitriona Balfe. It was said that the hunky Scot actor’s fortune increased by more than a million dollars.
According to The Sun, Sam Heughan’s Jamie Fraser character earned him additional £1.3 million in his bank account due to the massive popularity of “Outlander.” Moreover, it was not just the actor who gained from the historical drama. However, it also boosted Scotland’s economy by raising the number of its visitors.
It was reported that tourists now flock to memorable filming sites that were featured in “Outlander.” Based on the statistics, Scotland’s historical spots gathered five million visitors in 2017 alone as fans toured various filming locations where Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe give life to Claire and Jaime Fraser.
The publication explained that, based on Sam Heughan’s accounts that were filed by his company called Cairn Mor Creative, his assets for 2018 amounted to £1,588,252, and this is after paying off creditors by more or less £260,000. As per the computations, Caitriona Balfe’s co-star in “Outlander” earned an additional £600,000 in just one year.
On the other hand, Caitriona Balfe has been named one of the highest paid TV actresses in the U.S. As stated in Variety, Sam Heughan’s leading lady in “Outlander” is earning $100,000 per episode. So, it is safe to say that she is earning quite well too.
Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe play husband and wife in “Outlander.” They came from a different era in this time-traveling drama, but overcame the gap and started to live together in the 1700s.
Currently, the Sam Hueghan and Caitriona Balfe series-starrer is now on its fourth season, and it finally showed Jaime and Claire Fraser’s grown daughter Brianna. The drama is almost at its end and season 5 could be announced soon. “Outlander” season 4 is airing every Sunday at 8 p.m. on Starz.
