The Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 4 devices will soon have access to the Peloton watch app, which connects directly to Peloton’s Bike, Bike+, Tread, Row, and Guide with just a click.
The app promises to give users more control and visibility over their workouts, providing data such as heart rate on the screen in front of them.
The Integration with Samsung’s wearables illustrates the widening scope of Peloton’s ecosystem.
Peloton previously focused on tightly integrated hardware and software that thrived on exclusivity. It has since concentrated on reducing costs, diversifying distribution, and increasing reach through standalone app subscriptions that do not require its equipment to function.
Working with third-party wearable manufacturers like Samsung is another step in this direction.
