Valve’s annual Steam Steam Sale is going live in a few hours and just in time for the upcoming holiday weekend. But PC gamers may want to keep checking the digital store as the offers will be available for a limited time.
Per tradition, the Steam Autumn Sale will last for a week, starting on Tuesday, Nov. 22, at 10 a.m. PST. The annual sale event will last until Nov. 29. The schedule is perfectly timed for the highly anticipated Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales in the coming days.
In an earlier blog post, Valve told PC gamers to expect “tens of thousands of discounts.” And one of the reasons this sale event is anticipated every year is that even popular AAA games are getting major price cuts as well.
As of this writing, though, Valve already offers some popular titles at significantly lower costs. FromSoftware’s “Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - Game of the Year Edition” is already on sale with a 50% discount. It is currently available for $29.99 instead of $59.99. This edition includes the base game, Reflection game mode, Gauntlet of Strength game mode, three unlockable skins, and the Remnants feature that lets players leave messages for others to find across the map.
An even bigger discount is being offered for the turn-based strategy game “Sid Meier’s Civilization VI.” The game is being offered for $5.99, instead of $59.99, after a 90% discount. Note, though, that the promos for both games will expire by the start of the actual Steam Autumn Sale.
More AAA games will be sold at a discount once the Steam Autumn Sale officially starts. Valve released an early teaser, revealing some of the well-known titles that will be included in the sale event. Joining the list, so far, are “Disney Dreamlight Valley,” “Cyberpunk 2077,” “Hades,” “Hitman 3,” “Satisfactory,” “Slime Rancher 2,” “Stray,” and “V Rising.”
Valve will also open the nominations for this year’s Steam Awards on Nov. 22. PC gamers can vote for their favorite titles in 11 categories, including Game of the Year, Most Innovative Gameplay, and Outstanding Story-Rich Game. Valve added a new category, Best Game on the Go, following the release of Steam Deck last February.
