"Sweet Home" Season 2 director Lee Eung Bok opened up about the sequel.
Netflix debuted the second season of the action thriller sci-fi series, one of the most anticipated series of 2023. With 8 episodes, fans will see a revolving ensemble led by Song Kang, Lee Jin Wook, Go Min Si, Park Gyu Young, and Lee Si Young, as well as new known faces.
Oh Jung Se plays Dr. Lim, the man responsible for putting an end to the viral epidemic. Yoo Oh Sung plays the first commander Tak In Hwan, and Kim Moo Yeol plays the second commander Kim Young Hoo.
Jinyoung, on the other hand, plays Park Chan Young, a former baseball pitcher who becomes the platoon's youngest member. While the popular reception to "Sweet Home" Season 2 has been amazing, here's what director Lee Eung Bok has to say about it.
‘Sweet Home’ Season 2 Receives Warm Reception
In an interview with a media site, the filmmaker, who is also responsible for hit K-dramas such as "Descendants of the Sun," "Goblin," "Jirisan," and "Mr. Sunshine," discusses his actual feelings about the sequel.
"Sweet Home" Season 2 premiered in 2020 after fans waited over three years. The filmmaker, on the other hand, "didn't know there would be so much interest" in the Netflix original series.
Lee Eung Bok also expressed relief after observing the public's reaction to the release of seasons 1 and 2. The director stated that it took three years for him and Netflix to release the sequel because "neither of them thought it would be that successful."
"It's also a genre that costs a lot of money, and I think it took time to make a business decision," he added, as reported by a media site. He also examined the schedules of the actors and crew that will be involved in the sequel. Finally, one of the factors they must consider is the budget.
‘Sweet Home’ Season 2 Breaks Records
"Sweet Home" Season 2 has joined Netflix's global top 10 TV programs in less than a week following its launch. According to Flix Patrol, a streaming aggregation site, the sequel is presently in sixth place, topping three nations. Hong Kong, South Korea, and Thailand are all part of it.
