Thousands of participants gathered to further their knowledge and understanding of preventive, personalized medicine at the three-day conference in Las Vegas, from December 14-16. The World Congress provided CME credits in metabolic and integrative medicine through educational sessions, interactive lectures, and an exhibit hall that hosted hundreds of companies. In addition to four keynote presentations, the Congress featured 50 speakers and lectures, 17 learning tracks, sponsored workshops, and product presentations.
Supplementary pre-conference workshops from December 12-13 offered delegates the opportunity for further advanced education, surrounding some of the most pertinent and relevant topics in modern preventive healthcare: “Practice Enhancement Training,” “Bio-IT Symposium: Energetics in Medicine,” “Nitric Oxide: Applications for Clinical Practice,” “Peptide Therapy,” “Reversing Physical Aging with Hormone Therapies,” and “Obesity Management.” A post-conference workshop, “Menopause/Andropause: Improving the Health & Happiness of Your Patients with Bioidentical Hormones,” was held on December 17th.
Several prominent and influential leaders delivered keynote addresses. Innovators Peter Diamandis, MD, Pablos Holman, Michael S. Weiner, DO, MSM, MSIST, and Valter Longo, PhD shared their respective ideas regarding the ever-transitioning face of medicine through the advent of new technological advances. Dr. Diamandis, founder and chairman of both X Prize Foundation and Singularity University, spoke on "The Coming Age of Abundance — Understanding Humanity's Future," and shared his vision regarding a new era of optimism. Holman, self-described ‘futurist and inventor’ discussed "Inventing the Future of Food," describing the revolutionary shift in the way food is prepared through the advent of 3-D printing. Dr. Weiner, Chief Medical Information Officer at IBM Healthcare, lectured on key issues in today’s evolving healthcare ecosystem, including an aging population, increased technology and data, and new models of care. Dr. Valter Longo, biochemist and Director of the Longevity Institute of the University of Southern California, discussed his nutritional breakthrough Fasting Mimicking Diet and its impact on healthspan: designed to provide the body with natural, nourishing ingredients, while not activating any of the pro-aging processes.
These keynotes represented the continual effort to redefine and reshape medicine, and inspired attendees to commit and contribute towards a new century of wellness and longevity. In addition to speakers, lectures, and educational sessions, the exhibit hall boasted 350+ exhibitors, whose products include aesthetic devices and equipment, nutraceuticals, and high-tech medical advancements. Several companies hosted product showcases, which demonstrated the products’ potential impacts on both patient care and professional practices.
Overall, the conference offered an exciting and unique opportunity to be at the forefront of the constantly evolving industry of healthcare: the optimal platform for its delegates to establish new business and networking contacts, receive extensive education specifically engineered to enhance practices and patient care, and socialize with medical professionals from a wide array of disciplines and fields.
