One of the things that fans are looking forward to most in “The Blacklist” Season 6 is how the revelation of the truth regarding Raymond Reddington (James Spader) will change everything. After finding out that he is a fake, it would seem that there will be a shift in Elizabeth Keen’s (Megan Boone) perspective. On that note, it would seem that creator Jon Bokenkamp believes that the fake Red is actually more interesting than the real one.
In a recent interview, Bokenkamp talked about the future with regards to “The Blacklist” Season 6, as well as the fact that the Red that everyone knows is actually a fake. Far from giving fans reprieve by saying that he isn’t actually a fake, the show’s creator instead offered up his own take on why the fake Red is a good thing.
“That’s something that I hope the audience understands,” Bokenkamp explained. “This impostor, this person who has taken the identity of Reddington, has probably lived as Reddington longer than Reddington ever did and was far more interesting, and far more dangerous, and far funnier, and is the guy we want to watch.”
Megan Boone also talked about what her character’s mindset will be in “The Blacklist” Season 6 in a recent interview. It would seem that Red’s propensity for walking the line between good and evil has rubbed off on her and not in a good way. Once again, the criminal mastermind has ruined something that was once precious.
“[The] line between what’s right and what’s wrong has become blurred … She now believes what’s morally correct can sometimes be sacrificed for the greater good. Her means to execute justice have definitely gotten darker and somewhat more desperate,” the actress said.
“The Blacklist” Season 6 will have a two-part premiere to really kick things off on a high note on Jan. 3 and 4. This should make for an interesting start of the year.
