The announcement of “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2’s delay has finally arrived. It was, however, a very understandable and necessary decision considering the ongoing COVID-19 crisis around the world.

The Irregular at Magic High School’ season 2 release date

The delay of “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 was announced on Friday. Production of the second season was confirmed last fall and eventually led to the summer release date sometime in July. But the show is now set to premiere in October. Producers also promised they would announce a specific release date once it is finalized.

Hearing about the “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2’s getting delayed is hardly shocking. Many anime shows and movies have already been delayed or postponed indefinitely for the same reason. While this kind of announcements typically dampens the spirit of the anime community, this is an unusual time due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, fans should be more understanding and just have to be patient about the sudden changes.

A three-month delay should also not cause too much disappointment among fans of the series. After a hiatus of more than five years, many thought the anime adaptation has been canceled for good. Many fans are likely still thankful just for having the “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 confirmed.

The Irregular at Magic High School’ season 2 spoilers

Plans for the arc to be covered in “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 is not changed. The anime’s revival would still have a shorter run as it is only confirmed to adapt the Visitor Arc from Tsutomu Sato’s same title light novel series. This is significantly fewer material compared to what was used in season 1.

Fans who have seen the 2017 movie “The Girl Who Calls the Stars” will encounter a familiar character in “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2” – Angeline Kudou Shields. This time, she is going to be introduced based on the original stories and will arrive at the First High School as a part of a rare student exchange program between Japan and the USNA.
