In their effort to rescue a friend in the wilderness, they came across something that they have seen for the first time and unfortunately, the survivors are unaware of how dangerous these newcomers are.

Express mentioned that there is a chance that this leader is going to be killed by Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) since this is the case in the comics version.
