The “Uncharted” is the latest first-party IP from Sony Interactive Entertainment confirmed to launch on PC for the first time. And a new leak from the Steam backend may have revealed exactly when it will be released.
Earlier this week, a post on ResetEra said, “Steam had a whoopsie,” which led to revealing some internal information about upcoming games, including release dates. While the dates still need to be confirmed by the developers, SteamDB creator Pavel Djundik explained how a significant amount of information leaked all at once.
“Valve added release timestamps in the API, and they are visible even for unreleased games,” Djundik said. “Steam requires setting a planned release date (even if the page says coming soon) for games to have a store page.” That means even if games like “Uncharted” have unspecified release dates publicly listed on Steam, the digital store’s backend actually has different and potentially more specific information about games’ launch schedules.
As an example, Djundik shared screenshots of two games listed on Steam, including “Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection.” If anyone searches the remastered bundle on Steam, the release date will only show “2022.” But following the leak, the SteamDB creator found that the game is internally listed with a July 15, 2022 release date on Windows PC.
The remastered “Uncharted” bundle was first released on PS5 in January, while Naughty Dog and Sony remained mum on its launch schedule for PC gamers. The collection includes two games, including the latest main series installment, “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End,” and its standalone expansion, “Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.”
“A Thief’s End” was the latest title in the “Uncharted” franchise to feature the main protagonist, Nathan Drake, while “The Lost Legacy” became the first game in the series without him. The expansion follows the adventure of Chloe Frazer, who teams up with Nadine Ross to search for the tusk of Ganesh.
Naughty Dog has yet to announce the available graphics settings or PC requirements to play the remastered “Uncharted” collection. But it is worth noting that the bundle features a Fidelity Mode (4K / 30FPS), Performance Mode (1440p / 60FPS), and Performance+ Mode (1080p / 120FPS) on PS5.
