Stars of “Veep” season 7 confirmed on Wednesday that they have officially wrapped up filming for the final installment of HBO’s popular comedy show. The seventh installment not only marks the end of the series, but it will also have the shortest run in its history.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus and other cast members of “Veep” season 7 took to Instagram to inform their fans that the making of the final season is moving on to post-production. Louis-Dreyfus shared a selfie where her eye makeup can be seen ruined from tears.
Though the show is famous for its comedic content the final episode of “Veep” season 7 promises quite an emotional farewell. Note that just rehearsing her lines for the finale has already made Louis-Dreyfus cry.
Series wrap on Jonah Ryan. It’s been a gas.

Other “Veep” season 7 stars also admitted to feeling very emotional about the fact that Wednesday was going to be their final day on set. Actor Tony Hale matched how he feels with a sweatshirt designed with a heart saying, “I can’t describe how blessed and thankful I feel for everyone here.” Meanwhile, Timothy Simons also told his Twitter followers that just “driving off the [filming] lot just made it real.”
“Veep” season 7 will return with another interesting storyline centered around Selina’s (Louis-Dreyfus) fourth campaign to stay at the White House. What makes this fictional election more exciting is the fact that Selina is up against her former staffer Jonah (Simons).
The cancellation of the show after “Veep” season 7 was confirmed in September 2017. It was originally planned to have 10 episodes, but it was later cut down to 7 making it the shortest installment of the series. At the time, showrunner David Mandel promised fans that the upcoming episodes will offer a clear sense of “finality” in the story.
“Veep” season 7 was supposed to air this year. However, Louis-Dreyfus confirmed she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017. It led to their decision of temporarily putting the production on hold, so she can focus on her treatments, which were later successful and permitted the veteran actress to get back to work.
HBO is yet to announce the release date of “Veep” season 7. But there are speculations the show might return in late 2019.
