Teacher/researcher in applied maths, Télécom Paris – Institut Mines-Télécom
I am full professor in applied mathematics at Télécom Paris, Institut Polytechnique de Paris, within the Image, Data, Signal Department. I am the head of the S2A research team, counting more than 90 researchers and engineers in the domain of artificial intelligence, a team of the Télécom Paris LTCI Lab. I joined Telecom Paris in October 2007 to develop both research and the teaching of machine-learning with the school. Before that I worked as a Teacher-Researcher at Paris X University (Associate Professor 2000-2005) and researcher (Chief Statistics) in the Research Unity INRA Met@risk (2005-07). I was also member of the lab LPMA (Stochastic Modeling and Probability) of Universities Paris 6 and Paris 7 UMR CNRS N° 7799 until 2007. I am Associate Professor at ENSAE Paris since 2004 and was Associate Professor at ENPC ParisTech until 2016. I work as a scientific advisor of various institutions and companies (e.g. MINEFI, Exane, Sopra Steria, IT4PME, BPI) and as an expert for e.g. ANR, European Council, NSF, Israel Science Foundation, NRC Canada, Riken, Concours Mondial de l’Innovation.

I received my university education from University Paris 7 Denis Diderot (Master’s degree in Probability & Statistics, PhD in Applied Maths defended in 2000), visiting the Department of Statistics of Stanford University in 1997 and 1998. I defended my Habilitation thesis in 2006 at Université Paris-Ouest. My research topics are mainly related to machine learning, probability and statistics and computational harmonic analysis. In connection with these topics, I have carried out applied projects in various domains including Health/Medicine, Industry, Banking, Commerce, Security, Mobility or Energy.
