Apple’s iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus have been announced, featuring the new A18 chipset which delivers a 40% improvement in speed compared to its predecessor. The devices also include a Camera Control button and are available in a range of new colors.
Apple Launches iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus
The display sizes of the base iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus remained same from their immediate predecessors, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, but Apple introduced a new A18 chipset that significantly improves performance, as reported by WCCFTECH, and made minor design touches.
Both phones are compatible with Apple's artificial intelligence system and are available in a slew of stylish new hues; we'll get into all of the details about those and other upgrades shortly.
No ProMotion Support for iPhone 16 Models
There is no ProMotion support; therefore, neither the iPhone 16 nor the iPhone 16 Plus have high refresh rate screens. Apple has stuck with the same 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays from previous generations.
Fortunately, the other hardware we'll cover should make you overlook the absence of an LTPO panel for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. Apple has included a new Camera Control that activates with a finger slide in addition to the Action button.
A18 Chipset: 6-Core CPU and 5-Core GPU
With its 6-core CPU configuration—two performance cores and four efficiency cores—the new A18 chipset ushers in a new era of performance.
A 5-core GPU and a brand-new 16-core Neural Engine are also part of the chipset, allowing it to manage graphically intensive activities like running AAA games.
New Thermal Solution Keeps Devices Cool
If we're talking about playing AAA games, rumor has it that Apple has included a competent thermal solution that enables the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus keep cool and keep going strong.
The main rear camera of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus is 48 megapixels, has sensor-shift stabilization technology, and can catch more light thanks to its wide F/1.6 aperture.
The ultrawide-angle unit, which is a 12MP camera, can now capture 260% more light than its predecessor. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, similar to earlier 'Pro' versions, also offer macro photography.
