“NVIDIA” recently revealed their latest “GeForce” graphics cards the “GTX 1070” and the more powerful “GTX 1080.” Pegged as the most powerful graphics cards in the market, gamers are already salivating at the chance to get their hands on one or the other. However, an article by Fool suggests that the less powerful unit might end up being the more popular owing to the lower price of $380.
By comparison, the “GTX 1080” is expected to go for $600 and up, which might put off gamers who would rather not spend that much based on the performance difference alone. Then again, considering that a Digital Trends article highlights how both graphics cards blow all its competition out of the water, the matter of performance is of significant consideration.
Based on features alone, tests have consistently placed the 1080 as the best performer in terms of graphics results and power consumption. However, the 1070 does not fall too far behind. When Hexus took both graphics cards out for a spin for example, the difference was obvious from the get-go.
Compared to the previous generation of “NVIDIA’s” “GeForce” graphics cards the “GTX 980 TI” and the “GTX Titan X” in particular, gamers will be able to see how much value the new cards offer, especially since they stand at roughly the same price range. Even so, at $380 or the $450 for the Founders edition, the 1070 is simply the more attractive prospect for gamers who want significant performance boost but are on a budget.
With that said, the 1080 is also expected to represent a huge share in the 2016 sales of “NVIDIA,” since there will also be gamers who have deep pockets and will want only the best performer no matter the price. As such, “NVIDIA” is expected to dominate the market again, beating out its rival “AMD”.
