This year, 220 players and several volunteers came out for a great day of golf and to raise funds for cancer victims and their families. Contributions from the October 21, 2016 event totaled $47,496. With PSI's 100% matching donation, a record-breaking total of nearly $95,000 was donated. Of this amount, $38,554 was donated to the LLS, and $53,138 was donated to Special Love. The checks were presented to both charities by CEO Terry Lin at PSI’s Holiday Party at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City on December 10th.
“I love the culture of this company!” said Sheronda Booker, Donor Development Director for LLS. “Clearly, it the best place to work…a company that gives back. Terry Lin has really been an example of making a difference within the community by leading his employees to change the course of blood cancer treatment. You are true partners in hope, funding LLS research and finding cures for blood cancers.”
Special Love CEO Dave Smith said, “The PSI Golf Tournament has always been one of our most important events and this year blew the top off. Thanks to PSI, hundreds of pediatric cancer patients and family members will benefit from the fellowship and resource-sharing of Special Love’s community of support. What a wonderfully fitting way to kick-off the holiday season!”
"We’re thrilled about the continued success of PSI’s charity golf tournament over the past 19 years,” said CEO Terry Lin. “Our mission has always been to bring our Government customers, partners and colleagues together to raise money for a very worthy cause. These golfers came together, had a lot of fun, and raised the highest donation ever to make a difference in the lives of children and adults battling cancer.”
