A Nov. 4 pact from 20 organizations calls for shared agent systems to support business and industrial use; Huawei, Alibaba, Tencent and Xiaomi are among the participants.

The agreement links shared systems to lower costs for locating and connecting agents in separate domains, which could make coordination easier. It lists cheaper agent deployment and gains in industrial quality and efficiency among its aims.

The framework would register agents, describe their capabilities and support discovery. It also covers intent interpretation and conversion, connection routing, resource scheduling and metering, plus protocol compatibility and mutual recognition.

The organizations call for tools that lower barriers to creating and rolling out agents. They also propose joint development for practical workplace scenarios and later bringing the agents into production systems and business processes already in use.

Industry and the wider real economy are presented as the intended beneficiaries of expanded agent use.
