7-Eleven is one of the most well-known convenience stores in the world. It is present almost anywhere, and its popularity is not winding down at all.
In fact, 7-Eleven is expanding its business, and it now includes drive-thru service. As most fast-food outlets are now setting up their own drive-thrus due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation today, the retail store chain is jumping into the trend.
7-Eleven’s taco business
As per CNN Business, with the drive-thru being present in almost every fast-food these days, the convenience store company is also opening one for its Laredo Taco restaurant. It was said that it would be launching the restaurant in Dallas, and this branch will also have a drive-thru.
Usually, the Laredo Taco is being sold in 7-Eleven stores, but with the store in the said state, the taco will have a separate store. This is the second outlet that has both 7-Eleven store and Laredo Taco in one place since the first was built two years ago. However, this store in Dallas will be the first one to have the drive-thru feature for the taco and 7-Eleven items.
At the height of the pandemic crisis, drive-thrus helped restaurants to sell their goods to customers since social distancing is required. Chains have relied on this way of selling and made transactions faster as well. Thus, 7-11’s plan is a good step for the company to further increase its sales.
"Customers looking for socially distanced ways to grab breakfast, lunch and dinner will really appreciate [the drive-thru] now," Chris Tanco, the company’s chief operating officer, said in a statement.
Special new menu offering
Restaurant Business reported that aside from tacos and Mexican food items, 7-Eleven drive-thru will also offer a range of new drinks. The store will also stay open for 24 hours, so it is really a huge convenience to customers.
Customers can choose from over 30 beverage options that include coffee variants and Slurpees. Breakfast taco sets with freshly cracked eggs and coffees will be available starting at 5 a.m.
“7-Eleven is known as a beverage destination, and Laredo Taco Co. makes some of the best quick-serve Mexican food anywhere,” Tanco added. “Throw in the convenience of grabbing a taco paired with a Slurpee drink through a drive-thru and it's a match made in heaven."
