Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. said an AI program using OpenAI models would support three energy operations, with a later $340 million deal covering deployment in its upstream business.

In a Nov. 4, 2024, announcement, ADNOC described plans to use ENERGYai for seismic interpretation, more efficient energy use and monitoring operating processes in real time. The company did not name the specific OpenAI models involved.

AIQ, which developed ENERGYai with G42 and Microsoft, later announced an agreement with ADNOC. On March 10, 2025, AIQ valued the three-year deal at $340 million. The package covers ENERGYai alongside additional AI tools for ADNOC’s upstream operations.
