As Computex 2019 draws closer, the narrative surrounding the AMD Zen 2 processors are taking in new heights. The latest rumor regarding the processor lineup is that it will be able to overclock its memory controller higher than previous iterations, HotHardware reported.
The leak emerged when one of AMD’s partner, Yuri Bubliy, tweeted that the AMD Zen 2 is capable of a performance boost of DDR4 5000 MHz. If this proves true, then the processor will be equal to Intel’s overclocking capacity.
Combine this with another rumor that the AMD Zen 2 lineup will have a 12 core and 16 core variant, on top of its usual 8/6/4 core versions, and it’s looking like the company is aiming for Intel’s head. Of course, Intel will not simply lie down and give space for the competition as it’s surely working on a new processor of its own.
Meanwhile, AMD Zen 2 is hogging the spotlight at the moment – more so during the upcoming Computex 2019 slated to start on May 28. Unsurprisingly, PC enthusiasts are excited about what the company will be unveiling during the event.
Not that a lot of it is still a mystery since the past few months have been filled with leaks and rumors involving the AMD Zen 2. Thus, Computex 2019 will be serving as a confirmation zone to see which rumors hold true.
Regarding other whispers involving the AMD Zen 2, there seems to be a consensus among leakers that it’s performing at a steady 4.5 GHz and is 15 percent more efficient. Some data have found this figure to fall in the 10 percent area, while others are reporting a 20 percent increase. Whatever the case, it appears that the device will be shaking up the competition once it’s unveiled. As for its release date, nothing has been confirmed just yet. But there are talks on the web that it might come out in the second half of 2019, specifically in the month of July.
