Adidas is dropping YEEZY sneakers again, one last time, preparing for a final sale to clear out its exclusive stock. This marks the end of an era for the iconic brand.
Adidas' Final YEEZY Restock Expected This Summer Amid Speculation and High Anticipation
Adidas initially planned to sell its remaining YEEZY sneakers, estimated to be worth over $1 billion, around this time last year, as stated by CEO Bjørn Gulden. According to Highsnobiety, Adidas has discreetly released its YEEZY sneakers over the past year in intermittent, sold-out shoe drops.
While the 2023 shipments of Adidas YEEZY sneakers were pretty predictable, by 2024, the YEEZY shoes had all but dried up, making the final YEEZY restock a highly anticipated and thrilling event. Reports on when Adidas' final YEEZY sale will begin vary, with some sources suggesting May 27 and others confirming June 3. Some even claim that Adidas will release YEEZY shoes in July 2024.
All that is certain is that a YEEZY summer is expected. Although Adidas has not publicly addressed the YEEZY sneaker release speculations, leaks from the sneaker community, which have proven correct or at least a decent indication in the past, keep the audience well-informed and confident about the upcoming release.
Adidas Prepares for Final YEEZY Release with 60 Models, Including Classic and New Designs
Rumors agree on one thing: Adidas has prepared a large assortment of models to drop at different times, with batches of YEEZY shoes releasing across multiple days. The total number of YEEZY sneakers entering the market is expected to be approximately 60.
If fans have been waiting for a niche Adidas YEEZY sneaker straight from the source, chances are it will be featured in this release. Highlights from Adidas' massive Summer 2024 YEEZY release include the YEEZY 350 in its original Turtledove colorway from 2015 and the Pirate Black colorway that followed. There are also rumors that various YEEZY BOOST 350v2 models will be released.
Early YEEZY releases include the sci-fi Knit Runner, the massive, puffy NSLTD Boot, and the popular YEEZY Slides. Like previous launches, the final Adidas YEEZY sale is scheduled on the Adidas CONFIRMED app and possibly on the Adidas YEEZY website.
It has been a year since Adidas began releasing leftover YEEZY stock, and the tactic has proven effective. In 2023, the brand's revenues exceeded expectations, partly thanks to the YEEZY drops. "The improvement is due to the better operating business of around €100 million and the decision to not write off €268 million of YEEZY inventory," CEO Bjørn Gulden explained.
Adidas later announced intentions to discontinue the remaining YEEZYs in 2024. This began with the YEEZY BOOST 350 v2 in Steel Grey, released on February 29, followed by a more substantial release in March. According to an Adidas earnings call in the first quarter of 2024, the company plans to sell approximately $376 million in YEEZY sneakers throughout the fiscal year. Most of that stock will be offloaded in the coming weeks.
