The Air Jordan 17 Low “UNC” returns on August 28th for $300, a must-have for Jordan fans. Plus, the Air Jordan 11 Low “Diffused Blue” drops on August 17th—find out where to buy these highly anticipated sneakers.

Jordan Brand Brings Back the Air Jordan 17 Low 'UNC' on August 28th for $300, Celebrating Michael Jordan’s Tar Heels Legacy

Earlier this year, Jordan Brand reintroduced the Air Jordan 17 Low “Lightning” for the first time since its original 2003 debut. After this release, another original colorway is returning: the “UNC,” inspired by Michael Jordan’s legacy with the Tar Heels. Set to release on August 28th, 2024, the shoes will retail for $300 at select Jordan retailers.

According to Sneaker News, the Air Jordan 17 was initially launched during Michael Jordan’s brief Washington Wizards era. The 17 Low model integrates MJ’s off-the-court passions, such as golf—evident in the traction pattern inspired by a golf course—and jazz music, with a hardshell briefcase reminiscent of those used for brass instruments by jazz musicians. The design reflects Jordan’s business growth and embodies a more mature aesthetic.

While the original 2003 Air Jordan 17 Low release didn’t include the briefcase, Jordan Brand has featured this premium packaging in the 2024 release, justifying the $300 MSRP. Despite the high price tag, the Lightning 17s are currently fetching double the MSRP on the secondary market, and a similar trend is expected for the UNC 17 Lows.

The Air Jordan 11 Low 'Diffused Blue' Drops on August 17th in Full Family Sizing—Here’s Where to Buy

The Air Jordan 11 Low “Diffused Blue” will be released on August 17th in adult and full family sizes. The pricing is as follows: men’s ($190), GS ($150), PS ($80), and TD ($60). A staple of the summer sneaker lineup, the Air Jordan 11 Low returns for the second time in 2024, following the successful launch of the “Legend Pink” edition in June.

This release will be available via Nike’s SNKRS app and partnering retailers. The “Where To Buy” section below includes a complete list of retailers and links to the product pages upon release. Further down, detailed images from retailers and a breakdown of this drop's unique features are provided.

Unlike many new colorways of Michael Jordan’s signature shoe that come with detailed backstories, the “Diffused Blue” is designed to pique your interest. This easy-to-wear option for warm weather features a unique cerulean shade on the patent leather mudguard, select branding, and the sock liner. The rest of the shoe, including the clear translucent sole, is clad in pure white, creating a design that will turn heads.

Though the design emphasizes clean, minimal aesthetics, it does have some ties to previous iterations of the Air Jordan 11. The navy shade first appeared in the Air Jordan 11 “Win Like ’82,” which drew inspiration from Jordan’s UNC championship team and their victory over the Georgetown Hoyas in the final game. Two years later, the colorway made its way to the low-cut version with the Jordan 11 “Navy Snakeskin.” The “Diffused Blue” edition fills a gap between these releases, combining elements from the “Win Like ’82” and laying the groundwork for the upcoming Bred Jordan 11 Low in 2025, connecting you to the rich history of the Air Jordan line.
