The funeral took place in southern Yemen, Al Jazeera said in an Oct. 21 video report. The report put the number of recruits killed in the strike at 75 and attributed the attack to the Houthis.
Shabwa’s local authority initially reported 53 dead and more than 200 wounded after the Oct. 19 attack near Ataq, according to EconoTimes’ earlier coverage of the strike. That report identified the site as the Ahmed al-Sulaimani training center and said recruits there were preparing for internal security duties.
