Shabwa Governor Awad bin al-Wazir ordered continued care for people wounded in an Oct. 19 missile strike on a security training center as the reported death toll rose to 73.

Bin al-Wazir said 14 people remained missing, according to Yemen’s official SABA news agency, which Anadolu Agency cited in its report. SABA reported that authorities were monitoring the wounded.

Shabwa authorities’ first tally counted at least 53 deaths, while the number of injured exceeded 200. The Martyr Ahmed al-Sulaimani Training Center was hosting a session for new internal security recruits when it was hit.

Yemeni military spokesman Majed al-Nazili said Houthi forces fired three ballistic missiles at the center. The governor’s higher count was covered in EconoTimes’ earlier report on the revised toll.

The strike came amid escalating hostilities in Yemen, where the conflict began in 2014.
