The Yemeni army said it carried out 744 targeting operations against the Houthis over 24 hours as Yemen TV reported airstrikes east of Mokha on Oct. 21 during a southwestern offensive.
In an Oct. 20 statement, the army said it used aircraft, drones, artillery, rocket launchers and snipers. It claimed that 90 vehicles and other military assets were destroyed or damaged. The 744 operations were a tally across those weapons, not a count of airstrikes near Mokha.
Yemen TV said warplanes aimed at Houthi positions east of the coastal city. It gave no further details about the targets or any casualties. The extent of damage was not known from its account.
Yemen’s conflict began in 2014. In a separate incident, Shabwa’s governor said 73 people were killed in an Oct. 19 missile attack on a security training camp and 14 people were missing.
