'Alice in Borderland' Season 3 Release Date, Cast, Spoilers and Theories: Everything We Know So Far

Netflix has confirmed “Alice in Borderland” Season 3, which is definitely a good thing after the Season 2 finale. The gamemaster drew a doozy of cards from the stack-- the Joker just when Arisu (Kento Yamazaki) and his pals thought they were home free.

It was unthinkable that the Joker would not show from the moment the face card was dealt. As fans await more details, here is everything we know so far about the upcoming “Alice in Borderland” Season 3.

Alice in Borderland’ Season 3 Release Date

Fans had to wait slightly over two years for Season 2 to follow Season 1, with both installments being released in December. However, this does not automatically imply that we should mark our calendars for Christmas 2024. Per Digital Spy, the pandemic did hinder the production of Season 2, contributing to the two-year lag, so Season 3 might arrive on the streaming service as early as Spring 2024.

Alice in Borderland’ Season 3 Cast

Niragi (Dori Sakurada) and Aguni (Shô Aoyagi) were two unexpected faces that we thought had died in Season 1, only to reappear in Season 2. They survived season two despite being severely battered (Niragi in particular), and viewers hope to see them again in “Alice in Borderland” Season 3, per Radio Times.

Tatta, on the other hand, is a different story. Yutaro Watanabe's character will surely not rise from the dead, given that he was buried halfway through the season. Arisu and Usagi (Tao Tsuchiya) have survived explosions, stab wounds, and a variety of other life-or-death scrapes in order to “Alice in Borderland” Season 3 and, perhaps, more.

Aya Asahina, Nijirô Murakami, and Ayaka Miyoshi's characters Kuina, Chishiya, and Ann, respectively, also crossed the finish line. So, avid followers of the show can expect them to reprise their roles in “Alice in Borderland” Season 3. As Heiya, newcomer Yuri Tsunematsu was an excellent addition to the cast, and since she didn't wind up on the chopping board, there's no reason she shouldn't appear again.

Alice in Borderland’ Season 3 Plot

Avid followers of the show believe Arisu and company will be in for a big surprise in “Alice in Borderland” Season 3. Despite believing they had entered the “real world” in the Season 2 finale, the reveal of the Joker card reveals they are everything but.

There are many more “Alice in Wonderland” references to be discovered. For starters, fans haven't seen Tweedledum and Tweedledee change the meaning of terms. It's possible that all of the candidates are in a virtual reality world similar to the one in which Arisu found himself in the final episode.

In that delusion, Arisu was led to believe that he was in a hospital and that these games were a mental construct. With Usagi's help, he battled his way out of that mental trap — but it's probable they all went into another when they passed up the chance to become game residents.

It's likely that a new game has already begun, and they'll have to escape free. That will be difficult for the team, as they have no recollection of the games or their ties with one another.

Stay tuned for more “Alice in Borderland” Season 3 spoilers, news and updates!
