U.S. defense tech startup Anduril Industries is reportedly in discussions to raise up to $8 billion in a new funding round that could value the company at no less than $60 billion, according to Bloomberg News, citing sources familiar with the matter. If completed, the deal would mark a significant jump from Anduril’s previous $30.5 billion valuation secured during a $2.5 billion funding round in June last year, effectively doubling the company’s market value in less than a year.
The potential funding would provide Anduril Industries with substantial capital to accelerate its long-term growth strategy. Reports from The Information indicate that the fresh investment would help finance the company’s first large-scale weapons manufacturing facility and advance development of an autonomous fighter jet. These initiatives reflect Anduril’s broader ambition to modernize defense production and deliver next-generation military technologies at scale.
Anduril has quickly emerged as one of Silicon Valley’s most prominent defense technology companies, developing advanced sensors, surveillance systems, and autonomous drones. Its rise comes at a time when low-cost, AI-powered defense solutions are reshaping modern warfare, particularly in Ukraine, where drones have played a decisive role on the battlefield. The growing emphasis on autonomous systems and scalable defense platforms has positioned Anduril as a key player in the evolving global security landscape.
The company’s momentum also aligns with increased pressure on the Pentagon to adopt cutting-edge technologies to counter China’s military advancements. U.S. President Donald Trump has publicly encouraged the Department of Defense to embrace innovative solutions from private-sector technology firms, further boosting interest in defense-focused startups.
Although Anduril did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment outside regular business hours, investor enthusiasm highlights the broader surge in defense tech investment. With its expanding product portfolio and ambitious manufacturing plans, Anduril Industries is solidifying its status as a leading force in autonomous defense systems and next-generation military innovation.
