The gradual rollout is limited to Pro, Max and Ultra subscribers. Claude can read linked account data but cannot move money or access investment holdings.

Anthropic said Nov. 5 it was starting a gradual U.S. beta of Claude Personal Finance, which lets eligible subscribers query linked account data while keeping the feature read-only.

The rollout is for subscribers on the Pro, Max and Ultra plans. Free, Team and Enterprise users are excluded. Anthropic has not set a date for completing the rollout or making the feature available outside the United States.

Anthropic’s Help Center says users can connect as many as 16 banks through Claude’s web, desktop, iOS and Android apps. For connected accounts, Claude can read account names and types, the last four digits, balances, credit limits and transaction records reaching back up to 24 months.

The information Claude can access varies by account type. For investment, loan and credit card accounts, Anthropic says Claude can read balances and credit limits, but not holdings, trades, interest rates or account terms.

Plaid handles account authentication, and Anthropic says Claude does not ask for or see bank passwords. The company says the feature cannot move or manage money, is not intended to provide investment advice, and carries no advertising or sponsored recommendations.

Anthropic says chats in the Personal Finance hub are excluded from model training; privacy settings apply to conversations users have with Claude elsewhere. It cautions that balances may lag bank records by a day or two and that Claude may make mistakes, advising users to verify important figures in their bank app or statements.

The launch adds to questions about how AI products handle account information, a topic EconoTimes has covered in its reporting on personal AI agents and user data. Plaid Chief Technology Officer Will Robinson said, “Most people don’t need more financial information. They need help making sense of it.”

OpenAI announced a personal-finance experience for ChatGPT on May 15, 2026, initially for U.S. Pro users. Anthropic says it is exploring work with licensed professionals and regulated financial firms, but has given no timetable for that effort.
