Apple Inc. finally announced when its highly-anticipated Vision Pro headset is coming. On Monday, Jan. 8, the iPhone maker said that the device would be released early next month, but pre-orders will begin next weekend.
CNN Business reported that the Apple Vision Pro is the most ambitious project that the company has worked on in years. With its advanced hardware and other features, the new headset is also one of the brand's most expensive single products.
Special Features of the New Apple Vision Pro
The advanced headset is Apple's third biggest item to launch under its current CEO, Tim Cook. The product has also been the first significant hardware developed and introduced to the market in the last seven years.
The Apple Visio Pro looks like ski goggles but is full of extraordinary functions. Unlike the typical mixed-reality devices, Apple's offering has its own operating system called the visionOS. It also features a cutting-edge three-dimensional user interface and input system that the user's eyes, voice, and hands can control. The item will also allow people to overlay digital images on live videos of the real world.
Apple Vision Pro Prices and Availability Details
Apple revealed that its upcoming mixed reality headset, Vision Pro, is set to be released on Friday, Feb. 2. For fans and customers who would like to pre-order the item, they can do so on Jan. 19 starting at 5 a.m. PST.
For the prices, the new Apple Vision Pro is arriving in stores with a $3,499 price tag in the United States. This comes with 256 gigabytes of storage and can be purchased at all Apple Store outlets and U.S. online stores. Customers may also buy accessories such as readers for $99 and ZEISS Optical inserts for $149.
The Apple Vision Pro Package comes complete with a Solo Knit Band and Dual Loop Band to offer two options for wearing them. The box will also have a Light Seal, two light seal cushions, a headset cover, a battery, a polishing cloth, a USB-C power adapter, and a USB-C charging cable.
"The era of spatial computing has arrived," Apple's chief executive officer, Tim Cook, said in a press release. "Apple Vision Pro is the most advanced consumer electronics device ever created. Its revolutionary and magical user interface will redefine how we connect, create, and explore."
