Apple plans to commit up to $100 million over three years to Pennsylvania titanium producer Perryman Company, extending U.S. parts sourcing for the iPhone Duo as its Oct. 23 launch approaches.

Apple describes the Duo's enclosure as grade 5 titanium. Perryman's plant in Houston, Pennsylvania, melts, forges and rolls titanium for the phone, using material with at least 80% recycled content. Apple has not said how much titanium Perryman will supply or when deliveries will begin.

At 8:30 a.m. ET (12:30 UTC) on Oct. 16, 9to5Mac reported that all iPhone Duo color and storage combinations in Apple’s U.S. online store showed an estimated Jan. 25, 2027, ship date. That was a snapshot of U.S. listings at that time. Apple has not said whether the Perryman agreement will shorten customers' waits.

CNBC reported that JPMorgan lowered its estimate for Duo shipments in 2026 to 8 million to 9 million units from about 10 million, citing supply constraints. Those figures are the bank's estimates, not Apple guidance.

Apple is also expanding its partnership with Delaware-based Qnity Electronics. Qnity will produce advanced films in the United States for the iPhone 18 Pro's variable-aperture camera system, which Apple says provides control over light and depth.

Apple placed both agreements within its American Manufacturing Program, part of a $600 billion commitment to U.S. manufacturing and innovation over four years. The company counted nearly 100 components for the two phones made by suppliers across more than a dozen states. Apple says the partnerships support U.S. jobs but has not quantified hiring tied to either deal.

The company cited its longstanding relationship with Corning as another example of U.S. sourcing. Apple says Corning has supplied it since the first iPhone in 2007 and expects the company's Kentucky plant to make cover glass for all iPhones and Apple Watches sold worldwide by the end of 2026.

The iPhone Duo starts at $1,999 in the United States. Preorders opened Oct. 16, and Apple has scheduled availability to begin Oct. 23.
