Apple announced Oct. 20 that a three-year arrangement with Perryman Company, a Pennsylvania titanium producer, could total as much as $100 million. Perryman will supply material for Apple products, including the iPhone Duo.
At its Houston, Pennsylvania, site, Perryman processes the Duo’s grade 5 titanium through melting, forging and rolling. Apple put the recycled share at 80% or higher. Apple has not disclosed a production target or start date for the Perryman supply agreement.
The American Manufacturing Program covers the deal and sits within Apple’s broader U.S. pledge of $600 billion over four years for manufacturing and innovation. Apple also plans to have Delaware-based Qnity Electronics produce films for the iPhone 18 Pro’s variable-aperture 48-megapixel main camera.
Apple lists the U.S. starting price at $1,999. The iPhone Duo is scheduled to become available Oct. 23.
