Apple today released the final version of its much-anticipated iOS 17.3 and iPadOS 17.3 upgrades. The new upgrade comes a week after the business distributed the release candidate build to developers for testing. iOS 17.3 is a significant upgrade in terms of platform changes, in addition to bug fixes and performance improvements.
iOS 17.3 Released for iPhone with Major Features and Security Improvements
If you've been waiting for iOS 17.3 or iPadOS 17.3, it's now here for all compatible iPhones and iPads. If your device is compatible, you may download and install the newest version from the Settings app. Simply go to General > Software Update and download the most recent version for your device. The technique is same for the iPhone and iPad.
As previously said, iOS 17.3 is a substantial release that includes several bug fixes and security measures, as per WCCFTech. Aside from that, the update offers support for AirPlaying content on hotel room TVs. You may also make collaborative playlists on Apple Music with your friends and family. Check out the release notes below:
Stolen Device Protection
- Stolen Device Protection increases security of iPhone and Apple ID by requiring Face ID or Touch ID with no passcode fallback to perform certain actions
- Security Delay requires Face ID or Touch ID, an hour wait, and then an additional successful biometric authentication before sensitive operations like changing device passcode or Apple ID password can be performed
Lock Screen
- New Unity wallpaper honors Black history and culture in celebration of Black History Month
Music
- Collaborate on playlists allows you to invite friends to join your playlist and everyone can add, reorder, and remove songs
- Emoji reactions can be added to any track in a collaborative playlist
This update also includes the following improvements:
- AirPlay hotel support lets you stream content directly to the TV in your room in select hotels
- AppleCare & Warranty in Settings shows your coverage for all devices signed in with your Apple ID
- Crash detection optimizations (all iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 models)
As previously indicated, iOS 17.3 is compatible with all iPhone devices. Because it offers a new security feature for the iPhone, we recommend that readers upgrade the current build as soon as possible to secure their device. The firm has also announced other upgrades, so stay tuned. We'll be posting an in-depth look at the new features in the recent iOS 17.3 release soon.
