Apple's latest release, the AirPods 4, offers Active Noise Cancellation and an advanced H2 Audio Chip. Available for $179, these earbuds bring improved sound and comfort, with pre-orders beginning today and shipments scheduled for September 20.
Active Noise Cancellation
Apple showers the standard AirPods with attention this year. The only set of AirPods to receive a substantial hardware update this year is the fourth generation. The original AirPods 4 and the new AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation are now available.
As with each new Apple product, the AirPods 4 have been hailed as the most comfortable and best-sounding non-Pro AirPods to date. In order to improve the earpods' fit, Apple analyzed a big dataset of user ears using specialized mapping technology. In addition, they introduced a unique acoustic design that enhances sound quality significantly.
Personalized Spatial Audio Feature
According to GSM Arena, another new feature is Personalized Spatial Audio, which is designed to enhance sound quality even further to your preference.
This year's AirPods have active noise reduction, which is arguably the most significant change. What was once exclusive to the AirPods Pro is now available on the AirPods 4 ANC as well. On the flip side, active noise cancellation (ANC) can dampen ambient noise when you're talking on the phone or listening to music.
Adaptive Audio and Transparency Mode
Extra features like Adaptive Audio and Transparency Mode are included with the ANC. The former enhances ambient sound for a clearer view of your immediate surroundings, while the latter uses intelligent mode selection to tailor its output to your specific setting. When the system senses that you are talking, it will activate Conversation Adaptiveness and reduce the volume of the music.
Apple claims this is the most lightweight and portable case they have ever made, and it has also undergone some redesigning. There are no sacrifices in battery life—the headphones can last 30 hours of continuous playback with the aforementioned case.
New Charging Port
If you want to be able to hear incoming calls or locate your AirPods 4 quickly, for instance, the case has a little speaker for that. A USB-C charging port has been conveniently placed by Apple adjacent to the speaker. Wireless or cable charging options are now available for the AirPods.
Prices for the AirPods 4 with active noise cancellation start at $129 and go up to $179 for the ANC version. The 20th of September is when shipments will start. Starting today, you can place your pre-orders.
