Apple’s anticipated iPhone SE 4, possibly priced at $499, is rumored to feature an advanced A18 chip and an impressive 48MP camera. Expected in March 2025, this budget-friendly model may redefine what an affordable smartphone can offer.
Apple’s Custom 5G Modem Brings Big Changes to iPhone SE 4
With the introduction of Apple's bespoke 5G modem, codenamed "Centauri," the iPhone SE 4 sees some significant internal alterations.
In terms of the remaining specs, a full sheet that was leaked by Jukanlosreve (via WCCFTECH) shows that the phone will have an upgraded Ceramic Shield display and a 6.06-inch LTPS OLED with a resolution of 2,532 x 1,170 and a peak brightness of up to 800 nits. Speculation has it that the iPhone SE 4 will have the M11 material, which was supposedly utilized by the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.
Powerful A18 Processor and Apple Intelligence Integration
Next, the iPhone SE 4 is reported to have 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and the A18 processor seen in the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. Thanks to these two updates, the budget model will be able to run Apple Intelligence, which has become a major marketing ploy for the tech giant to sell an unprecedented number of iPhones every single year.
Regarding the camera, it seems like there will be a 12MP front-facing shooter and a single 48MP Sony Exmor IMX904 unit on the rear. Unfortunately, neither camera's video recording capabilities were specified.
Battery Boost and Slim Design Dimensions
The potential specs of the iPhone SE 4 include a respectable 3,279mAh battery and dimensions of 146.7 x 71.5 x 7.8mm. The iPhone 16 Pro's battery is just marginally larger at 3,582mAh, despite the smaller cell compared to its competitors. In case you were wondering, the battery capacity of the iPhone SE 3 was a pitiful 2,018 mAh, therefore there will be a staggering 62.5 percent difference between the battery of the iPhone SE 4 and the SE 3.
Along with additional features like Face ID and IP68 dust and water resistance, there will likely be support for wired charging up to 20W and wireless charging up to 15W using Qi2 and MagSafe.
Price Expectations and Launch Timeline
Based on these specs, the iPhone SE 4 is essentially the same as the iPhone 16 (although with a different name and a lower price tag), with a few minor differences (such as the decreased display). When it comes to pricing, the exact amount is yet unknown, but the gadget might be sold for $499 to $549.
Considering all that Apple has included in this specs sheet, we must admit that it is a reasonable pricing, and it has the potential to become one of Apple's most successful iPhone launches to date. We will have all the details prepared for you when the debut is anticipated in March 2025.
