Arcus will raise fees on crypto perpetual futures while keeping discounts on equity, commodity and index contracts, shifting costs for traders even as lower volume cutoffs unlock higher tiers.

At the base level, the crypto taker fee will increase to 0.045% from 0.0225%, and the maker fee will move from zero to 0.015%, Arcus said. Arcus will determine each trader’s tier from rolling 30-day volume across crypto and real-world-asset perpetuals.

Combined 30-day trading volume of $2.5 million will qualify a trader for the first higher tier, versus $5 million under the current schedule. The top tier will start at $1.5 billion, half the previous $3 billion threshold. Arcus will assess tier qualification across both contract types, while the fee will depend on which type a trader uses.

Lower thresholds will make it easier to qualify for a higher tier, but they will not guarantee a lower crypto fee. At $10 million in 30-day volume, a trader’s crypto taker rate would rise to 0.032% from 0.019% under the current schedule.

Arcus says discounted rates will continue for perpetual contracts tied to equities, commodities and indexes, while spot Stock Token trades will remain free of Arcus trading fees. The revised schedule takes effect at 8 p.m. ET Thursday, Oct. 22 (00:00 UTC Friday, Oct. 23).
